How To Download the Entire CancerTutor Website [Windows 2000 or Windows XP]

Note: You may have to print out this page in order to follow the instructions:

While this may seem like a lot of work to download one web site, once you have downloaded the proper software you will actually be able to download any website. However, you probably won’t want to download any of the really big sites.

  1. First, create a new directory to download the CancerTutor website into. You can name it anything you wish and put it anywhere you want to.
  2. Go to the website: http://www.download.com
  3. In the “Search” box at the top of the page type: HTTrack
  4. Click the green “Go” button to the right of the Search box
  5. Click on the Name: HTTrack Website Copier
  6. Click: Download Now
  7. Click: OK
  8. Select a directory on your hard drive, then click: Save (Note: If it doesn’t ask you for a directory you may have to search for the program file after it has downloaded. To do this click: Start [bottom left corner of screen] / Search / For Files or Folders / and search for the file name: httrack)
  9. It will take awhile for the file to download, depending on the speed of your Internet connection.
  10. Go to the hard drive where you saved the file and find the file: httrack-3[1].32-2.exe (this name may change as new versions of the software come out)
  11. Double click on the file name, which will open an installation dialog box.
  12. Click: Next
  13. Click: “I accept the agreement”
  14. Click: Next
  15. You may change the default directory if you wish, but generally you will leave the directory alone.
  16. Click: Next
  17. Click: Next
  18. Click: Next
  19. Click: Install
  20. Unclick the box to the left of “View history.txt file”
  21. Click: FinishNote: At this point you are done installing the program. On your desktop there should be an icon for HTTrack (it will look like a big “H”). Double click this icon and continue:
  22. Click: OK
  23. It is NOT necessary to enter a Proxy or to Configure the program, just Click: OK
  24. Click: Next
  25. In Project name box, enter: CancerTutor
  26. In the Base Path box (the name “Base Path” may be grayed out and be hard to read), click on the small button to the right of the Base Path box (the small button has 2 small dots on it) and navigate using the directory tree to the new directory you created in Step 0) above. Click: OK. This will put the name of the new directory in the Base Path box.
  27. Click: Next
  28. In the Web Addresses (URL) box type: https://websterkehr.com/
  29. Click: Next
  30. Click: Finish
  31. When the CancerTutor website has completely downloaded (which will take several minutes), click: Exit
  32. Now close all programs and navigate to the new directory you created for the CancerTutor website. Double click on the index.html file in this new directory. Now you can view, search or print the CancerTutor website from your hard drive.

If you download another website to this same directly, the index.html file will automatically adjust for both sites, or a hundred sites.

Any time you wish to download another site, just open the HTTrack program and start at Step 24, giving a name to the new website you wish to download.

Do not forget that the CancerTutor website changes from time to time, so when you need critical information, check with the web pages on the Internet.
