FAQ – Why Do I Get Smelly or Lumpy Stool?

Getting a smelly, lumpy stool can be a good sign or a bad sign.

The Good Sign

According to all of the experts in colon cleanses, a person can easily have several pounds of rotting fecal matter in their colon. When a person makes a major change in diet, especially to a liquid diet or high fiber vegetarian diet, it tends to cleanse the colon and all kinds of things come out!!

Johanna Brandt, author of the Grape Cure, said: “The grape is, as far as I know, the most powerful nature solvent of some chemical deposits, and at the same time the most drastic eliminator. Because of its extraordinary properties, the avenues of excretion become superbly active under a proper grape diet.” (page 102)

She also said: “There is nothing like the Grape Diet for purifying the blood from gouty and rheumatic poisons. The inorganic deposits that have settled between the joints are apparently dissolved and expelled in the form of diarrhea or as an unpleasant oily sweat.” (page 114)

Thus, when smelly stuff comes out of the body in the stool or skin, it is probably a good sign that the body is being cleansed. A person who has been on chemotherapy is more likely to have the smelly stuff come out of their skin.

The Bad Sign

The concern is whether the stuff in the stool contains a lot of blood. If there is a lot of blood in the stool, it could be a sign that an ulcer is bleeding or there is some other source of internal bleeding.

One of the things you need to pay close attention to is “timing.” If the smelly stools occur shortly after a major shift in diet, particularly to a high fruit and vegetable diet, it is probably a good sign.

However, if the timing of the smelly, lumpy stool does not correlate with a major change in diet, then you should see a doctor.

I cannot imagine that a change in diet would cause internal bleeding, but it is possible that by pure coincidence the diet was changed and internal bleeding occurred simultaneously and independently.

If you have concerns, see your doctor, and have it checked out. Do not depend on alternative medicines to deal with a bleeding ulcer or other internal bleeding!!
